Learning Evidence

When we think of our classes or sessions, we tend to think of them as the traditional way they have always been, this is to say a text book, chalkboard, the teacher in front of the class giving long explanations, homework, really straight routines and so on.

But it is really important to look further and realise that we are teachers in the 21st century where our students coexist with Information and Communication Technologies, the so called ICTs and, this is why our teaching practice should change not a little but a lot.
Taking into account the challenge of this week "detecting weaknesses in my teaching practice and finding cases of good practice that can be an example for me" I must say that it has been very productive and motivational.

My classes are usually too traditional and I would like to encourage my students to work in a collaborative way and also to use ICTs more than I already do it. This is why, from my point of view, both gamification and flipped classroom would help me to change my teaching practice.
Motivation is one of the most important elements in the teaching-learning process and, for this reason, we should all begin using tools, techniques and methodologies oriented to its development.
According to my teaching practice, I have to say that although I always try to motivate my students searching for attractive actvities related to the contents, I feel that what I do it's not usually enough.

For this reason, after a reseach using the open eTwinning list, I would like to try to use different apps in the classroom. Some of them are:

-  Plickers, a tool to revise concepts, assess our students or simply to obtain some feedback.
- Quizizz, similar to Kahoot. You can create games or tests to challenge your students.
- ClassDojo, tool for teachers to encourage students to promote different skills. It also connects parents with their children learning process.
- Playposit, a very useful tool when you are an inexperienced flipped "classroomer" as I am. It helps you to add questions to the videos that your students are watching.

Hope you find some of these ideas interesting and want to learn more about the tools I just introduced here.
For me, this is a new challenge.
